Gary Simpson
Lead Pastor
Gary was born and raised in Sardis.

His venture into ministry started at age 21 and has taken him to Winnipeg, Calgary and the Ukraine. Gary spent 10 years directing a campus ministry at the University of Calgary and directed five National Summer Projects before entering pastoral ministry.

He joined the Broadway Team in 2003 as the Lead Pastor.  Gary lives in Sardis with his wife Sharon and their four children.

Wilf Richert
Associate Pastor
Wilf and his wife Lorena came to Broadway Church from Alberta.  Wilf acted as Interim Lead Pastor prior to Gary's arrival.

Wilf has made pastoral ministry his life. If anyone has questioned God about how He works in this world, Wilf and Lorena have done just that. They lost two of their three sons in a tragic car accident a decade ago.

They bring wisdom to ministry, understanding the mystery of living by faith. Wilf directs the Small Group Ministry among other things at Broadway.

Megan Stewart
Family Ministries - Children & Youth Pastor
At first glance, you might think that the middle schoolers are without a youth pastor.  Well it simply isn't true.  She's just short and blends in with the crowd.  Megan is an almost-graduated Columbia Bible College student who has recently taken on the challenge of assisting middle-schoolers on their adventure to teenage-hood.  She's a big fan of outdoor activities such as snowboarding, soccer, backpacking and tree climbing!  Megan is an experienced youth worker who spent 6 years working with the youth at Bakerview Church and 10 summers at Stillwood Camp.

Her favorite food is cereal and her favorite ice cream is Moose Tracks.  Megan is also an avid movie watcher and maker.  Her favourite bands include Reliant K, Coldplay, and sadly, Hanson.  She is attempting to acquire a taste for the Jonas Brothers in an effort to make grade 5 & 6 girls think she's cool. 

Erich Petkau
Family Ministries - Youth & Young Adults Pastor
From truck driver to Youth & Young Adults pastor extraordinaire!

Though he's been living in Chilliwack for a few years now, Erich grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan.  A proud father of three and husband of Naomi (his better half), Erich attended Bethany Bible College where his interest in working with youth began.  Erich enjoys Lego (check out the collection in his office), borscht (don't ask), hockey (you'll have to ask him who his favorite team is) and his favourite singer is Sarah McLachlan.

Joanne Dekkers
Church Administrator
Joanne joined the team at Broadway in November of 2007 after a long career in the financial services industry.

She brings with her a wealth of administration experience and her love of people and desire to help are apparent to all who meet her.  She is a Chilliwackian born and raised and spent her childhood Sundays within the walls of Broadway Church.

Joanne also participates in music and women's ministry and lends a helping hand pretty well anywhere she can.  She lives with her husband Michael and is the loving mother of three grown sons (and three daughters-in-law that help keep her sane) and a proud grandmother of two.
