This will be a busy Sunday. First, Broadway’s regular
service will be held earlier than usual, for this one
Sunday. It will start at 9 AM. That will allow those who
wish to attend the City-Wide service to be at Prospera
Place by its 11 AM start time.
Then, at 6:30 PM at Broadway, it’s our Annual General
Meeting. All those who consider themselves part of the
Broadway family are encouraged to attend. The booklet of
reports for Annual General Meeting is available at the
office if you want a hard copy. It is for the first time
also available online.

The chair of the Broadway Pastoral Search Committee has
stepped down from the position. Erich Petkau chaired the
group through selection of its first of two nominees, but
he is leaving the decision on the second person to the
other committee members. Erich has been involved, himself,
in relating to Broadway’s youth - and we saw a glimpse of
that work last month during Camp weekend, with that
well-done skit. Doris Eichstadt, chair of Children’s and
Youth Ministry Council, has agreed to step in to fill the
committee vacancy. And Colleen Guretzki is the new chair
of the search committee. (The other members are Cheryl
Kannegieter, Bob Hagkull, and John Esau.)

A prayer item: our Church Administrator, Joanne Dekkers,
undergoes surgery tomorrow (Thursday). Please keep her in
your thoughts and prayers for a good surgery and a speedy
and comfortable (as comfortable as possible!) recovery.
During her six week recuperation, Don Quiring (that’s
D-O-N) will be looking after Broadway’s administrative
needs.

Congratulations to the Broadway Mexico 2008 team for
putting on an impressive car wash last Saturday. In case
you missed hearing it on Sunday, the event generated about
$1400 -- an awesome amount for a one-day fundraising event!
Not only do we have well-cleaned cars and trucks, but the
team has all it requires for the duplex they’ll build and
for team members’ costs. And there is enough left over to
think about providing beds for the family that will live in
the house.

Pray for good weather for two events on Saturday the 21st!
Broadway’s men tee off at Meadowlands at 8 AM for their
annual golf tournament. And, starting at 3 PM, the
volunteers who staffed Kidz Klub, Children’s Church and
Sunday School are being feted at a barbecue party.

The Immanuel Church in Bo, which operates the Ken Wiebe
School, has asked Broadway to consider what they believe to
be “a better idea” on expanding the school, while adding to
the church’s capacity. The proposal will be presented
Sunday night at Broadway’s congregational meeting.

Finally, a quiz: What time is our Broadway service, on
this Sunday, only? If you answered 9 AM - you’re right!
