Communications Team « Broadway Church, Chilliwack, BC – An inter-generational Mennonite Brethren church in the heart of Chilliwack, BC.

The Communications Team is a group of people who are using their skills in video, photography, writing and graphic design to make a contribution to effective and clear communication at Broadway Church.

Website Authors / Editor

A website author / editor is a person who takes ownership of the church’s website, who updates sections of the site regularly and in a timely fashion. They are committed to having the most timely information on the internet in order to ensure that the people in the church know what’s happening and when its happening. You bring your knowledge, vision and expertise to the role. With you on board, we will learn more and do more than we could without you on the team. This can be done at home using your own computer.

Skills: Microsoft Word, Writing, basic HTML skills are helpful but not necessary. You will be using WordPress to edit the website.

We need several website authors / editors.

Videographer

A videographer is skilled in both video taping and video editing. This person is available to videotape the sermon in high-definition and skilled in uploading it to both Vimeo and YouTube immediately after the service on Sunday. This person is responsible to embed the video of the service into the media player in the website using a simple web-based administrative interface. Initially, this role happens during the Sunday morning service and immediately following the service ensuring that the sermon video is online by 2pm on Sunday. We can envision videotaping more than just the Sunday services in the future (Kidz Klub, Youth, Outdoor baptisms, etc.)

We need several videographers.

Podcaster

This person is responsible for the audio of the Sunday service. They receive the audio recording through the sound booth and alter it as necessary – either stitching the tracks together or editing dead air time at the beginning. Immediately after the service, they upload the audio file to the media player through a web-based interface. This will update both the iTunes podcast RSS and the site’s media player.
